UPDATE: COVID-19/Phase 3
An update on how Loudoun Cat Care is operating in the face of COVID-19 as the county moves into phase 3.
In light of the new cases emerging in Loudoun County teenagers and young adults, LCC is going to continue with curbside service for at least another month. As a small practice, we are unable to split our staff into differing shifts to help prevent exposure, and do not have a large waiting room to allow for social distancing; thus we must take other precautions in order not to be exposed, or to expose anyone, as we provide care for our patients and clients. As health professionals we are obligated to lead the way in preventing the spread of this disease. We are continuing to comply with CDC and Virginia Department of Health regulations such as not coming to work if feeling ill, wearing facemasks when in the building or talking to clients curbside, washing our hands after every patient, and disinfecting all routinely touched surfaces every hour. This is in addition to the regular cleaning done between patients.
We thank our clients for their patience as we work curbside, and we understand that it is difficult to not to be present in the room when your cat is being examined. The cats are handling this very well and many seem to like to sit in the windows and watch their family members in their cars. Many cats are presenting with illnesses and we will continue to try to talk in person with you as much as possible; the weather getting hotter is going to necessitate us talking more on the phone potentially, but we promise to do our best to communicate clearly and quickly with you.
It is a privilege to partner with you to care for your kitties! Thank you for entrusting us with your furry, purring babies. We love our job, our patients and our clients and look forward to a time in the future when life is back to “normal”. Please continue to stay safe and healthy.
